Hilton Lodge is a Georgian house set in secluded grounds near the centre of Haddington. It was first mentioned in Haddington records circa 1764 when William Richardson was granted a Charter by Haddington Council. It has since been listed as being of architectural and historical interest.
Hilton Lodge is owned and managed by the Stewart family and are known as The Stewart Partnership. Mr and Mrs Stewart, as limited partners, show a keen interest in the business which is managed by their daughters Caeris Gilliland and Naoimh Stirling, both qualified Registered Nurses with more than 25 years specialist experience in Care for the Elderly. Mrs Stirling is the Manager of the Nursing Home and Mrs Gilliland the Manager of Hilton Nursing & Homecare Agency. Together they are responsible for the administration and quality management of both Nursing Home and the Nursing & Homecare Agency.
The aim of all at Hilton Lodge is to provide a safe, healthy, comfort able home environment in which to enhance the quality of life of our Residents. Individuality, independence and dignity are of paramount importance and our main concern is to provide the highest possible quality of care.
In 1995 we achieved ISO 9002, which ensures that a quality system is maintained in all areas. We are inspected yearly by BM Trada, which ensures the standards are maintained and developed.
Hilton Lodge is registered with the Social Care and Social Work Inspection Scotland for 20 Residents. We look after frail elderly Residents who require 24-hour Nursing care. There is wheelchair access from the car park at the rear of the house (accessed from Hope Park) and at the side and the front of the house. We are surrounded by lovely sheltered gardens where Residents enjoy sitting out in the fine weather.
The house has undergone major refurbishment over the past few years and we now have 20 single rooms, 18 of which are en-suite. Each bedroom is equipped with a variable height bed and a Nurse Call system. Residents are encouraged to bring their ornaments and pictures and small pieces of furniture to ensure their bedroom feels like home. A television is provided in each bedroom.
We have a lovely sitting room which overlooks the south facing front garden. There is also a Conservatory which leads into the dining room with a lovely view overlooking the side gardens.
Our senior carers work with the Residents on exercises, quizzes, crafts and other activities. We also have a minibus for our Residents to enjoy regular outings.
We welcome family members and other visitors and several times a year we have functions to which all friends and family are invited.
All of the above has evolved since Hilton Lodge Private Nursing Home opened in 1984. Residents are all consulted on any changes affecting their well-being, particularly the making of rules and regulations that may influence their environment and activities.
If you are interested in coming to Hilton Lodge we will be delighted to show you around at any time and we will discuss in detail your individual requirements.
