At Hilton Lodge we have 20 single bedrooms with 18 having ensuite and wet floor shower facilities situated on 2 floors.
There is a passenger lift, a chair lift and a platform lift as well as stairs to access all areas of the house. We also have 2 further assisted bathrooms and shower room for residents use. Each bath has an auto lift to make bathing easier. We have wheelchair access from the car park behind the house, from the main road in front and at the side of the house into the conservatory. On the ground floor there is an elegant sitting room facing south over the garden with doors leading to a safe enclosed garden area. There is a separate dining room which also has a conservatory area where residents can sit and enjoy the gardens. Bathrooms are conveniently close to each room and there are extra toilets on the ground floor near to the public rooms. Each individually furnished bedroom is equipped with a variable height profiling bed, telephone point, TV/DVD combi, nurse call point and Sky TV access point.
At Hilton Lodge we have a Hairdresser who visits 2 days per week for residents with some hairdressing included in our fees. Our visiting Chiropodist attends 3 weekly or as needed and Physiotherapy can be arranged either privately or through community services. Our local Dentists are happy to visit residents in house for most dental treatments and reviews and we use our local Opticians for residents eye care and reviews.
At Hilton Lodge we work closely with our three local GP practices at Newton Port Surgery and also with specialist Psychiatric and Community Mental Health Teams to ensure our residents physical and mental health needs are met thus ensuring positive outcomes as residents needs and conditions change. We work closely with our preferred Chemist and they also assist us in ensuring training needs are met and we are following Best Practice in ordering, storing and administration of medication by our registered nurses.
All of the above has evolved since Hilton Lodge Private Nursing Home opened in 1984. Residents are consulted on any changes affecting their wellbeing, particularly the making of rules or regulations that may influence their environment and activities.
